On March 17, 2026, Silpakorn University created a platform to exchange and present the power of arts in driving society through the "Silpakorn Town Hall: The Power of Arts" event. The session was led by Prof. Tanasait Ngawhirunpat, Ph.D., R.Ph., President of Silpakorn University, at the Tha Phra Palace Auditorium, with executives, faculty, staff, students, and parents in attendance.
The event featured exhibitions of the university's progress under current leadership and provided an opportunity for participants to exchange creative views with the President and management team. Under the theme "The Power of Arts," the university presented its vision to use art as a mechanism for creating social value and driving change. Key successes from the past 1,096 days were reported, alongside goals for the next 365 days, such as:
Driving SDGs and establishing the Faculty of Nursing.
Moving forward with the Holding Company to generate revenue from art and design expertise.
Opening Showcase spaces for research products, innovation, and intellectual property.
Elevating art to an international level through academic conferences and artist incubation programs.
Furthermore, a clear roadmap for infrastructure development was revealed to reflect spatial identity and digital-ready learning environments. Notable projects include:
Construction of the 80th Anniversary Learning and Innovation Center at City Campus, Muang Thong Thani.
Renovation of the Faculty of Music building.
Improvement of the Office of the President at Taling Chan.
This Town Hall serves as a vital stage for Silpakorn University to communicate its direction in integrating art with various sciences to create sustainable innovation. It reflects that Silpakorn is not just an art school but a "Creative Ecosystem" ready to produce graduates and drive Thai society forward sustainably.
