The Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology (formerly the Faculty of Industrial Technology), Silpakorn University, was established under the Royal Decree on the Establishment of the Faculty of Industrial Technology in Silpakorn University, Ministry of University Affairs, B.E. 2534 (1991). Announced in the Royal Gazette, Volume 108, Part 193, on November 6, 1991, the faculty held its foundation stone laying ceremony on Thursday, March 14, 1996. The faculty was founded to meet the government's policy of producing technological personnel as a result of rapid industrial expansion since the late 1980s. The university's policy for establishing new faculties considers social and labor market needs, particularly in alignment with the industrial development of Thailand's western region. It has since been renamed the Faculty of Engineering and Industrial Technology.
