The Faculty of Education at Silpakorn University was established on June 18, 1970.
It is the 6th faculty of Silpakorn University and the 2nd faculty at the Sanam Chandra Palace Campus. Professor M.L. Pin Malakul, the University President at the time, served as the first acting Dean. The faculty's primary mission is to produce professional educators for primary and secondary levels. Initially, it offered four majors: Thai, English, Geography, and History, with an inaugural class of 31 students.

1971: Following the Prime Minister’s Office decree, the faculty was reorganized into five departments: Foundations of Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Psychology and Guidance, Educational Administration and Supervision, and the Office of the Secretary.

1972: To support the Ministry of Education's policy on enhancing teacher qualifications, the university approved a 2-year continuing Bachelor’s degree program for in-service teachers.

1974: Expanded into graduate studies with a Master's program in Adult and Continuing Education. The Faculty of Education Demonstration School was also established (initially for upper primary, later shifting focus to secondary education).

1981 onwards: Master's programs expanded further into Educational Administration (1981), TESOL and Curriculum and Supervision (1985), Teaching Thai (1992), Educational Technology (1997), and Community Psychology (1998).

As of the 2024 academic year, the faculty offers 30 programs: 13 undergraduate programs, 1 collaborative undergraduate program with the Faculty of Science, 9 Master's programs, 1 collaborative Master's program with the Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, and 6 Doctoral programs.

By 2008, the Faculty of Education Demonstration School reached its full capacity, offering all three educational levels: Pre-school, Primary, and Secondary education.
