In its early stages, the Faculty of Archaeology was founded with the primary mission of developing specialized personnel to serve the nation's needs, specifically producing archaeologists and graduates for the Archaeology Division of the Thai Fine Arts Department, as well as faculty members and officers in the field of archaeology and cultural heritage.

The establishment of this faculty is highly significant as Thailand possesses numerous archaeological sites and artifacts that witness the nation's long history and culture. This cultural heritage fosters national pride and serves as a reminder to safeguard the nation's independence.
