(November 26, 2025) – Associate Professor Dr. Prasopchai Pasunon, Vice President for Research and Enterprise at Silpakorn University, as the principal investigator, led his research team to receive the "NRCT AWARD" for National Impact Research and Innovation. The award was presented by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) at the NRCT FORUM 2025, held at the NRCT headquarters.
The award-winning project, titled "Phetch Me Dee, Buri Sangsan: Sustainable Development and Expansion of Phetchaburi Creative City to District-Level Creative Hub Models," aims to enhance the creative potential of Phetchaburi Province. By using cultural capital as a foundation for growth, the project establishes a framework for "Prototype Creative Districts" that can serve as a development model for other regions in Thailand. This initiative emphasizes the active participation of local communities, government agencies, the private sector, and creative cultural networks.
Dr. Wiparat De-ong, Executive Director of the NRCT, presided over the ceremony during the "NRCT FORUM 2025," which commemorated the NRCT's 66th anniversary. Under the theme "Synergizing Knowledge, Honoring Researchers, Elevating Thailand's Future with Research and Innovation," the event showcased outstanding research from across the nation. The "Phetch Me Dee" project presented its conceptual framework, including creative city development models, cultural capital management strategies, and practical approaches to expanding creative zones effectively.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Sanit Aksornkoae attended to congratulate the research team, praising the project's success in reflecting Silpakorn University's role in producing knowledge and innovation that significantly contributes to national development, cultural preservation, and sustainable urban growth.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Silpakorn University and demonstrates the vital role of Thai researchers in elevating the value of cities, culture, and social innovation for the benefit of the country.
